We finally found the culprit who has been secretly tripping everyone up.
To catch this underground monster, we had to pull up entire slabs of concrete. Look at the size of this thing! The darn root literally has bark on it. It’s out here masquerading as a freakin’ tree branch beneath the walkway.
If you’ve taken a random spill at the Shockley Estate anytime over the last few years… you’ve been officially vindicated. It wasn’t that you had too much to drink(we’ll maybe), and it wasn’t your coordination… It was this massive subterranean beast.
I’m very proud to be an American, but California is not a free state. I know many of you couldn’t care less about the 2nd Amendment, but I do. My constitutional rights are being infringed and no one seems to care about it.
Now, I don’t want to get off on a rant here, but like it or not, I enjoy shooting. It’s fun and owning a firearm adds an extra layer of protection for me and my family. But this state has taken all that away from me.
Forget the restrictions on which handgun I can purchase, how often I can purchase a firearm, or the fact that I have to wait ten days to take home a firearm I’ve purchase, whether it’s my first gun or my 100th. Add in the fact that for the past five years I haven’t been allowed to ship ammunition to my home, I can’t have a functioning magazine release in my AR-15s, and I can’t purchase magazines that hold more than ten rounds.
As if that wasn’t enough, California passed a law that went into effect on the first of this year that prevents me from shipping to my home, ANYTHING that attaches to my firearms. I can’t buy a barrel, stock, trigger, safety selector, not even a magazine coupler. How in anyway can this be considered legal?
Why aren’t people losing their shit over this?
Imagine if they put these sorts of restrictions on your right to free speech. There is no difference here! The 2nd Amendment is not a second-class right, but yet it’s treated as such. The California legislature knows they are passing laws that violate our rights, but they also know they control the courts and can tie up our appeals for literally decades.
And the worst thing about all this… There’s not a damn thing I can do to change anything.
Although the Supreme Court has finally agreed to take up a few key cases, we won’t see any judgment for another year, and then California will again defy the Supreme Court and enact more legislation to impede our rights even further.
I love this state and the area where I live, but I’m done with all this mess. I’m looking forward to our time traveling away from this state and seeing what the other states have to offer.
William had waged a long and weary war against the local bear community after far too many mornings of waking up to his garbage can looking like it had hosted a bear rave. He was forced to take matters into his own hands when he marched outside with a drill, a box of nuts and bolts, and a grim determination of a man who’d lost one too many pizza boxes to the woods.
With a satisfied grunt, he drilled holes through the heavy plastic lid and fastened it down tight with heavy-duty nuts and bolts. As he stepped back to admire his handiwork, he couldn’t help but chuckle. “Try getting in now, you furry dumpsters with legs!” he yelled at the empty trees. Only time—and the midnight scavenging hour—would tell if his mechanical masterpiece would finally end the great bear-garbage conflict.
I little long, but fun video staring our local hooligan.
While the girls are at the ballet tonight, I’ll be watching one of the 80’s best horror films, brilliantly remastered in 4k. I’ve seen Re-Animator many times in my youth, but never the unrated cut, and never in 4k.
I decided to forgo dinner tonight, as I’m not sure I want to view this one on a full belly.
